We have news of an upcoming litter! This litter has been carefully planned for quite sometime and if everything goes as planned Floyd and Ginny will be having puppies around July 23, 2008. Floyd lives with Ellie in Prince George, BC and has been visiting Heather & Ginny in Seattle. We think he is having fun :)

Maggie's puppies look like little baking potatoes, they are practically as wide as they are long! Right now their eyes and ears are still closed. We are expecting to see their pretty eyes open any day. We will post new pictures when their eyes are open.

LillyBits has been busy adding pages and improving our site. Lilly's puppies will be going to their new homes soon. Boy does time fly. Maggie is due on May 10, 2008. We are getting really excited and Maggie is definitely starting to show. We hope you enjoy the site update.

Heather has some of the biggest news of the year! She welcomed her first Grandchild into the world on April 18, 2008. Her name is Rylee Marie and she weighs 6 lbs 7 oz. Pretty exciting. We thought we would kick off our LillyBits O News page by sharing a picture of Rylee Marie with you. We were thinking... eventually Rylee is going to want a puppy :)

All of Lilly's puppies have now joined their new families and we have heard that everyone is adjusting well.

Maggie is getting HUGE, and we are very excited for the big event around May 10, 2008. We can feel and see Maggie's puppies moving everywhere!

We do have an introduction to make, pictured on the left is 'LillyBits Griffin Adores the Ladies'. Griffin was born right here at LillyBits from Ginny's last litter. We have been enjoying him, raising him and closely watching him with high hopes since birth.

We are really thrilled to say that Griffin is everything we hoped for with a great mellow personality, gorgeous coat and color.

We also want to say thank you to everyone who is praying for Ellie and her family. Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated by the Goodrich's.

Cheers,
Heather

June 8, 2008

We had a busy weekend here on the Seattle side of LillyBits! Over the past few days each of the puppies families came out to the house to choose their puppies. We also have a little bit of news... Peyton is now available. Email us if you think that Peyton maybe the right dog for your family, he will be ready to join his new family around July 4th.

I have been so blessed to have Rylee my new grand daughter over several times this week. I could not resist sharing the photo of Maggie napping with Rylee. Maggie really loves babies, what a help she tries to be! When she first realized their was little person to snuggle with she wagged her tail so hard she practically moved her self sideways in the room! That is all the news for now. Have a great week.

RUN HENRY RUN!

Maggie's puppies are six weeks old now and they are on the move! Puppy pictures become quite interesting at this age. Heather took about 100 pictures... most of them look like Henry's picture on the left :)

Henry, Theo, Piper & Lola had their first day outside and loved it. You can share it with us on the video page. As long as the weather is nice they will be able to play outside every day, the puppies have a blast and Heather really likes it too because a tired puppy is a happy puppy :)

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

We hope everyone is having a safe and happy Fourth of July! Most of Maggie's puppies have gone home to their new families. Lola is staying with Heather & family for a couple extra days so she has been with them on their Holiday. We have to say it was so nice to have the litter box training in place when she stayed over at her Mom's. It made traveling with a puppy so easy. Heather has been feeling just a tad guilty because they really have been spoiling little Lola... Sorry Carly & Alec. The top picture is Lola on the way to Heather's Mom's - perky and ready for anything. The picture on the bottom is Lola on the way home, tired, a little dirty and passed out. Heather's Mom has an acre on Puget Sound and Lola ran with the kids for hours.

Ginny is really beginning to show and we are looking forward to meeting her little ones at the end of July. Have a great day today!

Cheers,
Heather & Ellie

We are waiting for the arrival of Ginny's puppies. Ginny's due date is July 23rd just six days away. Of course, Ginny has the final say on when her pups will be here. Griffin on the parents page is from Ginny's last litter, really cute.

In the meantime we made a video of Ginny saying... I wuv woo. Check it out on the video page, she is about to have a litter of pups and she will still do anything for a piece of cheese. She LOVES cheese!

Heather & Kevin's oldest daughter Keisha is a missionary in Ecuador. They don't get to see her very often but she is home for 8 weeks from her kindergarten teaching position there. They have not seen her for over a year so this was really a special treat. As soon as Ginny's little ones are here we will update the site. Stay cool... boy its been hot around here!

SOPHIE'S ROAD TRIP TO HURRICANE RIDGE :)

Heather & Family took a road trip to the Olympic National Forest on the Peninsula to Hurricane Ridge. The parents at LillyBits are our pets and we love traveling with them.

Sophie had a great day. We couldn't resist sharing these photos of her. In the top photo Sophie is gazing out the window in the ferry line. The bottom photo is of Sophie on top of the world at Hurricane Ridge. There was a lot of deer everywhere and Sophie wasn't so sure about them. She had an expression as if to say "Whats that, a Great Dane? Odd looking Dog."

On a side note, Ginny and puppies are doing well. Everyone is well on their way to being as wide as they are long. We like our puppies nice and chubby!

The Dog Days of Summer :)

The dog days of summer really describe Heather's house lately! The puppies are keeping her busy (not to mention the 10 kids) and Heather is excited to have Jack & Henry our previous puppies here for a short stay while their family is on vacation.

Ginny's puppies have begun their litter box training and already the pups are using their box. They make us so proud.

Ava's puppies are now two weeks old and have their eyes open. Ava is doing a good job with them and is a very attentive mother.

The picture on the right is Henry and he is Maggie's son. His LillyBits name was Peyton. Peyton was renamed Henry and went to live with his Brother Jack another LillyBits puppy. Boy his red color is brilliant.

We hope you enjoy our homemade cartoon. Our puppies are natural comedians! We have so much fun with them while they are with us. Ava's puppies started their litter box training today and are starting to move around quite well. New pictures are posted in the nurseries. Enjoy :)

Heather went and visited Chewie and Scooter two of our LillyBits who live in Lake Forest Park, WA. They live with separate families but Scooter is staying with Chewie while Dan is on vacation in Bora Bora. That pretty much made Heather's week :)

September 4, 2008

This was a busy week at LillyBits. Ava's puppies turned four weeks old and their families were able to pick their puppies.

Its seems like just yesterday it was the middle of summer and the puppies were on their way. Our family was a buzz with the excitement and anticipation of new life. Now our Lillybits families are excited to begin their lives with a new furry family member. As summer ends and I send my kids back to school I have been having that familiar bittersweet feeling... as the puppies get fluffier the day they go home is closer.

I am a proud Grandma and just had to share a recent picture of my Grandbaby Rylee Marie. Did you hear I have another Grandbaby due on the fifteenth of September? Pretty exciting. Granny Heather. Doesn't it have a nice ring to it?

I also thought the picture of Cosmo giving Kevin a big kiss was too cute so I had to share.

Cheers,
Heather

Welcome Austin Jay!

Heather's Grandson Austin Jay was born on September 24th - 9 days late! We are glad the waiting is over and our Grandson is here. He was well worth the wait.

It is with mixed emotion that we announce Ginny's retirement. We are missing her dearly and we are so happy for her new Mom Margaret. Ginny has been with Margaret for over a week now and all reports are great. Ginny is loving being the one and only. From Margaret's updates it seems that Ginny isn't missing us as much as we miss her. I think the cheese treats are helping! The picture on the right is Hannah reading the Ginny Journal she made for Margaret. In the journal is everything Hannah could think of that Ginny's new home would like to know.

Ginny's puppies have also joined their families along with most of Ava's puppies. It will be a while before we have puppies again but will certainly keep the site updated with the latest. For now, we will enjoy our adults and take it easy.

Cheers,
Heather & Ellie

Waiting!

Heather has been waiting for her Grandson to arrive - he is 3 days late.

On the left is my daughter Angie - overdue with the LillyBits girls waiting patiently with her. Maggie even rests her paw on Angie's belly. Too cute!

Introducing Bianca of LillyBits

We would like to introduce Bianca. Bianca is a purebred Bichon and has been added to our parents page. Heather and Kevin have raised Bianca since she was eight weeks old. Bianca has Kevin's heart - she is his dog. Now Kevin's little girl Bianca is all grown up and we are happy that sometime this year she will be ready to have pups of her own. She has had lots of practice playing with pups at LillyBits and has made a wonderful "Auntie" and we are sure she will be an excellent mom.

Ellie stayed the night over at my house (Heather)for one night this week. She had a lay over in Seattle on her way to see her sister. Ellie hand painted murals in the nursery and of course we spent hours "talking dog" and shared more than one belly laugh. Really fun.

Heather and Kevin celebrated their anniversary this past weekend and enjoyed a LONG road trip to Canada. They were thrilled to visit Heather's friend Dianne in Canada who also breeds Shichons. Heather and Dianne have become good friends and it was wonderful to finally meet in person. What a lovely home and wonderful dogs, Dianne and her family do an amazing job. The love Dianne pours into her puppies and adults really shows. The prairie where they live is beautiful and very different from the hills, mountains and evergreens of Washington State. We are hoping to show off our Mount Rainier to Dianne when she comes to visit us sometime. Maggie also spent time visiting Gormley <wink wink> and we are hoping that the visit was a success. We will keep you posted!

Cheers,

THANK YOU CHRISTOPHER & SOPHIE...

On LillyBits.com you often see my daughter Hannah. She is a camera HAM and loves to do work 'in front' of the camera. However, Christopher is also a wonderful helper here at LillyBits and I wanted to take a moment to thank him.

Christopher and Sophie are best friends. As you can see in the picture Sophie patiently waits for her boy to be done with all his 6th grade homework. The two of them are like peas and carrots.

Christopher's behind the scenes help here at LillyBits is not overlooked by me. Christopher without being asked and without complaint lets all our dogs out for potty in the morning. Christopher has the glamorous job of cleaning up the yard when the dogs are done. Christopher empties litter boxes, washes dogs and snuggles pups. He does these things willingly, quietly, and with a smile on his face. He is truly a blessing.  It is funny because Sophie is so much like Chris. She is the girl her waits her turn, wags her tail and is content to just be. Christopher adores her and so do we.

Cheers,
Heather

Happy Halloween!

The Schneider family sent us this cute picture of Junior (Griffin's Brother) in his Bumble Bee costume on  the left. He looks ready for the dog version of Halloween: I do a Trick and you give me a Treat - it is called Trick & Treating (a.k.a. clicker training)! Of course on the right is Hannah as Dorothy and Darby as Toto. Boy, they really fit the parts. But Hannah we must ask, with Darby in the basket, where will you put your candy?

At LillyBits we are getting very excited about our puppies due in late November :) We know a few of our families are also anxiously awaiting the arrival of the little ones.

We hope you have a safe and happy Halloween. This weekend is the wrap up of soccer season for Heather's family and of course: Pumpkin Carving!

Cheers,
Heather & Ellie

Angie's Home & Pet Services

When You're Away, Don't Worry Be Happy!

I can't believe it is November already! Thanksgiving is just around the corner and then Christmas! Wow the year has really just flown by!

I am excited to announce that my daughter Angie has opened her own little business. Her business provides home and pet services. From pet & house sitting to baby sitting and mini pet grooms. Angie offers an array of services. Please click the link below for a printable price and service list:

Angie, as you can imagine, is very good with dogs & kids. After all, she grew up in the Edwards household and we have plenty of both. Our hope is that our local families will find Angie's talents as invaluable as our family does.

I am Angie's Mom :) so here is a quote from one of Angie's happy customers:

"Angie provides daycare for my dog once a week and I have also taken advantage of her mini groom service. I am completely satisfied with Angie and her work exceeds my expectations every time. I would refer her to anyone without hesitation and with a glowing report"
~ Margaret Vellek

Angie will happily provide more references upon request. I am so proud. Can you tell?

Heather

Leaves, rain & mud :)

This time of year as a dog owner in the Northwest my mind wanders often to the subject of mud. Mud on paws, mud tracked in the house and of course mud on the couch from the paws that tracked the mud into the house! So when it is really pouring out when most people are staying warm and dry, I on the other hand walk the dogs. I do this to avoid mud from the backyard. On this particular day I was walking four dogs in what felt like a torrential downpour even by Seattle standards. By the time I got home from the walk I had rain dripping off the end of my nose and the dogs looked like they had been in a car wash. This is when it hit me: I need to de- mud the yard.  This was about two weeks ago. If your a local Seattlelite you might recall that extremely wet week!

So this was the set up for my next week. Luckily I was blessed with a fairly dry week to follow. I live on a greenbelt and I am surrounded by beautiful greenery. Of course these beautiful trees drop all their leaves this time of year. So I spent most of two days raking. Kevin my husband said it was a little premature because leaves were falling on me while I raked. If you know me personally, well lets just say this wasn't a deterrent. I had my mind set. So finally after two days all the leaves were raked and the back yard completely overhauled. Now was the moment I was waiting for, I would execute my plan to eradicate the mud my dogs seem to love to roll in.

First I needed to fence off an area that would be a mud free and dog safe zone. Off to Home Depot for fencing material. Kevin was able to install the fence for me over the weekend and I am very happy with the results, the outdoor play area for the dogs is very large and has room for everyone to run, play and chase. In the areas that don't have grass, we laid down straw to cover the garden beds which are the main mud culprits. The neighbors thought we were a little odd. We live in the city and we came home with two bales of hay in the back of the PT Cruiser :)!

Winning this battle with mud may seem like a small victory to some, but for me, well this is just bliss. Now when it is raining cats and dogs, my dogs and I can stay warm, dry and still utilize our backyard without fear of MUD. Yippee!

Cheers,
Heather
I was washing all the dog beds, so Maggie made do by sleeping in the toy basket.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Kevin & I have a very big family and the holidays are always a fun, loud and family filled time for us. Thanksgiving is my husbands favorite of them all. Just getting together to eat, enjoy each others company and count our blessings. This year I am so blessed! Two new grandchildren and all 10 children are healthy and happy. I of course took the opportunity of having everyone together to get this great picture of the kids. The grandbabies had fallen asleep and you know the saying... Never wake a sleeping baby!

From my home to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

Heather

Maggie's puppies are here! Maggie and her new babies are all doing wonderful. The puppies are beautiful and we are so pleased by the assortment of color including auburn, golds, cream and black.

On the left is a picture of the little ones nursing and one of Maggie in early labor. Maggie loves to lay on her back all snuggled up in blankets! She really is a character.

I will be working on video to post over the next few days. Right now Maggie and pups are resting in our master bedroom :)

I would like to say congratulations to our new LillyBits families. We will take wonderful care of your little ones until it is time for them to go home.

We do have upcoming puppies that will be available to new homes so please feel free to contact us for more information.

December 14, 2008

Christmas is just around the corner now. Today it is snowing in Seattle and the dogs love the snow! They have been chasing each other around the yard and letting the powder fly.

Maggie & Jody's puppies are doing wonderful. Since the puppies are born just a day apart both are well into the bio-sensor work we do with them. As we are finished with this phase of rearing the puppies we will be able to share with their families all we learned about them from this special handling for early neurological stimulation. Eyes are just beginning to open and soon their little ears will follow.

We are looking forward to the arrival of Gracie's litter and she is beginning to show her pregnant belly. It is very nice that Gracie's puppies will arrive just after the holiday season!

Cheers,
Heather

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Just three days until Christmas and we are totally socked in with Snow here in the Puget Sound. We live on hill so we have been sledding & having a grand time.

Jody & Maggie's puppies have begun their litter box training and are off to a great start. We updated the video page with an example of how a three week old puppy begins their litter box manners.

The puppies have begun tentative tail wagging, wrestling and few growls & baby barks. By next week they will seem less like wobbly toddlers and more like little dogs. It is amazing how much progress they make from week to week. All of the puppy pictures are in the process of being updated. Keep Warm.

Merry Christmas,
Heather
